staff bios
Eric Frisch is a musician and worship leader based in Columbus, Ohio. He grew up in Tiffin, Ohio, by way of Minot, North Dakota, and got his start in music playing drums, bass, and keyboards in several Tiffin area churches. This fueled a passion for worship music and worship leading, and Eric performed or led worship at over 50 events in Northwest Ohio between 2001-2004 in addition to weekly church services. He also instructs the Otterbein University drumline and performs regularly with the Westerville Symphony Orchestra.
Relocating to Columbus in 2004 to attend Otterbein University, from which he holds a Bachelor of Arts in music, Eric now works extensively throughout the state and region as a worship leader, musician and educator. Eric performed with a wide variety of local, regional, and national artists and orchestras. From 2011-2012, he toured nationally at the bassist for The Van-Dells.

Amanda Seymour joins the Cardinal Marching Band staff as our new colorguard instructor. She has performed with colorguards for eight years, including four years with the CMB. She is a 2012 Otterbein alumni, and had the privilege to serve as guard co-captain in her senior year. Prior to Otterbein, she was a member of the Hilliard Davidson High School colorguard where she was captain in her junior and senior years.
Dr. Michael Yonchak currently serves in multiple roles within the Department of Music at Otterbein, which include Director of the Cardinal Marching Band, Assistant Professor of Music Education, and as a freelance percussionist in the greater Columbus area. Dr. Yonchak earned the Bachelor of Music in Education and Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting degrees from the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio, and completed the Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Wind Conducting at the University of Kentucky. His research continues to focus on performance practices and interpretation of the music of Frank Zappa, which has subsequently led to publications and clinic presentations about this composer and other popular music topics.
Dr. Yonchak holds honorary memberships in Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Tau Beta Sigma. He is also an endorsee for Vic Firth, Inc., and a member of the Vic Firth Collegiate Educator Program.
