The Otterbein Wind Ensemble is comprised of both majors and nonmajors. Curated programming covers standard "warhorse" pieces as well as contemporary works for full wind ensemble and smaller chamber/flex groups. The Wind Ensemble performs two full concerts each semester, as well as year-end Honors Convocation and Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies.
The Wind Ensemble is open to all Otterbein students, and rehearses on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-5pm. |
The Otterbein Jazz Ensemble performs a blend of music from the history of the jazz ensemble, as well as newer charts that explore a variety of contemporary styles. This ensemble performs in a variety of contexts, which include a concertized presentation as well as more informal off-campus shows.
The Jazz Ensemble is open to all Otterbein students, and rehearses from 7-9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. |

Chamber Ensembles / Smaller Groups
All departmental chamber groups are absorbed into one catch-all course called "Mixed Ensembles" (MUSC 4500). This model will allow us to combine students and resources to offer unique instrumentations for contemporary mixed ensembles along with many other traditional experiences (such as jazz combo, percussion ensemble, and saxophone quartet, to name a few). Please contact Dr. Yonchak with any questions.
