The Otterbein Combos continue the tradition of small-group jazz and pop covers, exploring standards and original compositions written by students in these groups. These groups perform in regular rotation on and off campus throughout the Westerville and greater Columbus area.

The Percussion Ensemble enjoys a reputation as one of the longest operating ensembles within the Department of Music. Comprised of majors and non-majors, the percussion ensemble explores the ever-evolving soundscape of percussion writing, encompassing everything from lighter works to the experimental. The Flute Ensemble is one of the largest single studio-based ensembles within the Department of Music. In addition to exploring the best in contemporary flute literature, this group helps to support the Otterbein Flute Choir Day, which annually attracts over 60 high school flute players for a day of performance clinics and masterclasses. The Towers Brass Quintet is a mainstay of the band area, making appearances in concerts, studio recitals, University functions, and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.
